Musk ox mamas typically give birth to one calf in the spring, after an eight-month gestation period. Calves may be tiny when first born, but they don t stay little for long! They weigh between 15-25 pounds at birth and can grow up to be 350 to 800 pounds as adults, with females usually weighing less than males.
